This past weekend, on October 5th, the Brunswick Royal Realty team proudly participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure in Moncton. It was my first time participating, but it certainly won’t be the last, especially considering how much fun my oldest son had.
Participants dressed in pink, and so did we! The goal of this run is to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and support programs. It is Canada’s largest single-day event dedicated to the breast cancer cause. You can register for the 1km or the 5km — We chose 5km (but walking because we are not the most athletic people, let’s put it that way).
This is Breanna with our baby (both our babies, really). She is a breast cancer survivor and, every year, she raises quite a high amount for the cause. We are just so proud of her, and we always show up to make her proud as well!
Jackson was pretty much the only one who ran (along with poor dad, who had to follow along). We were very impressed that he actually followed up AND pushed his baby’s stroller for the entire 5km without asking once to be picked up. What a big boy.
For our team, this is one of the most important charity events we take part in. We show up for Breanna, her mom, my aunt, my grandmother, the women who lost their battle and the ones who survived this vile disease. We show up to kick cancer’s ass!
